Student Learning Outcomes – Chicano/Latino Studies

By the time of graduation, our undergraduate majors will be able to: 
  • Recognize the diverse and interconnected experiences among Chicana/o and Latina/o/é communities shaped by race, gender, sexuality, immigration status, in health, migration, region, and other lived realities
  • Demonstrate mastery of key topics in three pillars: history, cultural and creative expression, and current social issues
  • Apply appropriate research methods to effectively gather, evaluate, and interpret data related to the Chicana/o and Latina/o/é experience
  • Communicate research findings through clear written and verbal presentations of an independent project
  • Demonstrate commitment to be of service to Latina/o/é communities and broader global society
