Organize, construct, and support a point of view in verbal and written expression.

 
Locate and effectively use primary and secondary source materials relevant to Chicano/Latino Studies research; students will collect, interpret, and evaluate research data and/or cultural production and/or demonstrate an understanding of epistemological strengths and weaknesses, reliability, and validity of the relevant scholarship to Chicano/Latino Studies.

 
Conceive, organize, and compose substantive writing projects that are coherent, cogent, and grammatically correct; effectively plan formal and informal presentations in individual and group situations; make effective use of information technology to organize and communicate information to multiple audiences.

 
The Department will prepare departmental majors to be of service to the Latino community and to the global society.
